The impacts of climate change are happening now, destroying land, lives and livelihoods around the world. This is Loss and Damage.
At COP27 in Egypt, governments around the world promised to pay into a global Loss and Damage fund to support the people who are suffering first and worst.
But, nearly a year later, the fund still sits empty and there are major concerns that it won’t be fit for purpose – leaving millions of people at risk.
We need you to remind world leaders of the importance of this fund, especially in the run-up to COP28. You must remind them that it’s time to pay up on Loss and Damage.
That’s why we’re asking you to write a letter to your MP to encourage them to sign a global pledge on Loss and Damage. The more voices from around the world that do this, the louder the chorus calling for action will be.
Together, this can influence change. Together, this can help correct the injustices of the climate crisis. And together, this can encourage world leaders to pay up for Loss and Damage.
